20th Birthday Letter From Dr. Leon

Dear WPP Family and Friends,

In just a few days, we will be celebrating WPP’s 20th birthday with a big party for our patients. I hope to see each of you this Saturday at Arbor Hills Nature Preserve from 9:00am to 12:00 noon.

It was a bittersweet summer for me, as I celebrated 15 high school graduates heading off to further their education and to enjoy the adventures of college life.   What a privilege to share in their years of growing up! For all of them, I could still “see” them as “little ones” in the office. How quickly time flies!

During the quiet of this morning, after all my own kids were off to school, I was reflecting on the past 20 years of establishing and working at West Plano Pediatrics. A song came to mind that truly reflects my thoughts and emotions over the past 20 years. When I played this song on my piano, it was and continues to be my prayer of gratitude that I whisper before God:

I’m Amazed (music and lyrics by Rory Noland)
I’m amazed at all You’ve done for me. Who am I that You’d bless me so?
I stand in awe of all Your wondrous deeds; You’ve dealt with me so graciously.

Broken by all the times I’ve failed. And the days I’ve hung my head in shame.
Time and again, I’m driven to my knees- And I find Your great compassion there for me.

I’m amazed at all You’ve done for me. Who am I that You’d bless me so?
I stand in awe of all Your wondrous deeds; You’ve dealt with me so graciously.

You’ve blessed me with more than I deserve. Mercy and love at every turn.
All that You give flows out of who You are- And I thank you, Lord, from the bottom of my heart.

I’m amazed at all You’ve done for me. Who am I that You’d bless me so?
I stand in awe of all Your wondrous deeds; You’ve dealt with me so graciously.

Fondly,
Dr. Leon
