The American Academy of Pediatrics has started the “#Call Your Pediatrician Campaign.”
This campaign calls attention to the fact that skipping vaccines and checkups can be dangerous.
As our world slowly starts to reopen, we have expanded our ability to accommodate more annual checkups, school physicals, sports physicals, and camp physicals in a safe and efficient manner.
Distance learning for most of us is finally over. We are phasing into the hot Texas summer days. Sports are ramping up and schools are preparing to welcome our children back for the fall 2020-2021 school year.
What better time to check your annual physical off your to do list? Get those pesky forms over and done with and update those vaccine records!
In addition, we also offer cognitive / IMPACT testing via a link sent to you in the comfort of your own home. This serves as a baseline comparison in the event that your child would ever undergo a concussion. High risk sports for concussion include but are not limited to Hockey, Football, Lacrosse, Soccer, and Basketball.
Safety updates: The health and well-being of your child is paramount at West Plano Pediatrics. We will be continuing “Universal Masking” for the foreseeable future. This, simply put, means that the doctors and staff will wear a mask to protect you and your child at all times. Parents and children over the age of 2 (if tolerated) will wear a mask to protect our staff as well.
We will continue to practice social distancing with no waiting in our waiting room. You will be assigned a patient room immediately upon arrival.
All patients are heavily prescreened prior to arriving. Parents are encouraged to reschedule well checkups even on the same day of your child’s appointment if your child is exhibiting any signs of illness. Any child who has a fever or any sign of illness will be rescheduled.
Sick appointments are scheduled at different times than well check ups and these patients are seen in designated rooms. We currently have the ability to perform COVID-19 testing on a limited basis.
